Micahbird and our pet birdee

What an amazing gift from the Lord. Some might disagree and in a few weeks I might disagree as well but for now this is a gift. About a month or so ago we had a bird set up camp under our front porch. We didn't know it at first and one day when I came home from working Nana was out front whistling and birds were circling her like she was Snow White or something. Nana thought she had nailed the bird call but it turned out the bird was trying to get to her home and Nana and Micah were blocking her way. The bird built her nest and apparently decided this was a nice neighborhood to start a family in. Micah got to see her build the nest and each night and morning he would point to the front door so we could look out and see the bird. Then when visitors came over he would point and show them. Next the daddy bird began to come home at night after apparently working all day. Micah loved to keep watching all day for him to return. Then I saw an open egg on the ground and I knew the birds had hatched. Micah and I were so excited. We couldn't see them yet but I kept telling Micah about the baby birds. Well, we went out of town this weekend and when we got home last night we ran to check and this morning Micah and I spotted two of the baby birds tiny heads and necks craning out of the nest. Then the mammabird would come and shoo them back in. While this story might be less than exciting for you it has been so neat for us. We have even talked about God giving us instinct. That is how the mammabird knows what to do for the baby birds. While I know Micah can't understand it all I am thankful for the neat opportunity. This morning Micah has been saying "baby bird" and pointing and walking to the window over and over. Thank you, Jesus!
