the belly bean

My bean isn't so small anymore...or at least my belly isn't. I am almost 15 weeks and boy do I look more pregnant than last go round. I am widening and growing in many areas. These are a few pictures in a dress that definitely didn't hide my condition. But anything looks better with the lake behind it.

Easter

This is my mom's attempt to get us all in a family picture. Nice, Mom.

Hayden with his worm and makeshift batman cape and dark knight glove.

The boys...look how mischevious they both look...and they are every bit as much as they look. One night we put them in the back bedroom with a movie on the bed. It didn't take long for the two of them to need to be separated.

We had a good, semi well weekend at the lake. My mom and I actually went into Alex City to a new market on Saturday with her friend Donna with no children. It was a huge blessing for me. We had lots of family time and outdoor time. Both of which Micah loved. I am more tired than I thought I should be and I think Mick is too. Our relaxing spring break turned out to be not what we had expected. We are home now and gearing up for another busy week ahead. These are some of our pictures. We overslept Easter morning for sunrise service. We have NEVER missed in all of my years of memories, but my mom set the clock wrong and we all snoozed. So Mick, Micah and I stopped by the church where we got married on our way home and had some prayer time and took some pictures. One of the funniest things is after we took pictures, (it is an outdoor chapel) Micah kept running back under the church and sitting on a pew yelling "Jesus, Jesus, Amen!" That is why there is a picture of him as the sole congregation member. Good memories.

The Hill Family Luck

So I don't believe in luck, but if I did, I would say that my family (The Hill's) are just plain unlucky. If something bad is going to happen, it just honestly tends to happen to them. This weekend we were party to their latest little trial. On Friday we headed to the lake. We heard it might be bad weather at home but the lake was beautiful when we got there. Micah went down to the beach and even put his feet in the freezing cold water. We packed up for dinner at Oscars...our favorite. My mom and dad dropped Hayden with us so that they could have a date night. After we got done with dinner it started turning dark, real dark. Hayden gets real nervous about storms so he kept saying...it is just cloudy Uncle Mick, just cloudy. He kept insisting on this even after the rain started to fall. Anyways, we get to the lake house and my parents hadn't left for dinner yet. We told them they might should wait a few minutes and about 5 minutes later we had golf ball sized hail pelting our tin roof as loud as it could be. It was unreal. I have never seen anything like it. The wonderment wore off for my Dad when he realized his blessed truck, his one prized possession was also being barraged by this storm. We had to forbid him from going to lay on top of the hood, or putting a blanket on it. It lasted about 10 minutes and then was gone. But not without alot of damage to our new car, dad's truck, the gazebo (looked like it had been shot up by gangsters), adirondack chairs had wholes straight through them, etc. etc. So while it was a bad storm and there were a few casualities in the possession department...we were actually not unlucky but blessed that we all were safe under our roof instead of out driving in the storm. Although, my dad might not see it that way.

the great outdoors.

Well Mick was about to go stir crazy yesterday with all our sickness so I briefly mentioned that in one of the magazine's was a really neat garden in a huge planter. One look at the page a few tears and he was off to Lowe's to build us something! I called my Dad a little bit later to invite them over to eat dinner and to see if my Dad could help. Mick likes to do projects really fast. So they headed over and I cooked tacos, yummy! Micah was so excited when he woke up from his nap and saw Daddy "Building, Building!" He stayed outside from that point on. Hayden came over and he liked that even more. I wish I had taken some pictures of them on the trampoline. They were on there zipped in for some time. I can see them from the kitchen window and would have to go out every now and then and get Micah off of Hayden...he loves to tackle him. Then I notice Micah laying down and Hayden standing over him for like 10 minutes. Micah being still. I go up to see what is going on and Hayden informs me they are playing Doctor. Mick said that was only to play with the opposite sex. So I ask what kind of doctor and Hayden says, "the rubbing tummy doctor". Micah apparently liked it! Silly boys! These are just some pictures of Mom and I trying to keep them out of our new garden bed!

If you don't have anything nice to blog...

then you shouldn't blog at all, right? Well at the risk of sounding depressing I'll just give you the facts. I have strep. That is right, those websites that say the window for strep is 5 days got nothing on my 7. I am always the exception:) Micah is going through a defiant, crying stage today and we can't figure out why...lovely. Mick has had to take over with him and I feel so guilty that I just can't hack it today.

Ok, so back to not blogging unless it is nice. I wanted to write and ask all of you to pray for my friend Kristi. She has had a very long and sorted pregnancy that I would do little justice to try to explain. She has a little girl and lost a little boy before this pregnancy. To say things are stressful in her life right now would be quite the understatement. Anyways, she will be induced on Friday, the 10th and needs lots of prayers. I can't explain all the medical terminology but God knows all of it so just tell Him! Thanks so much for praying! Witnessing this process in Kristi's life has been a testimony to God's faithfulness to so many, especially me!

Micah just gave her a really slimy kiss!

Trying to eat and take a picture with Micah.

Cheering for the ladies!!

Yesterday Micah was feeling a good bit better so we had a busy day. Regrettably so, in hindsight. I think we made him feel worse in the end. But we did have a good day. We stopped by his friend Jake's birthday party but didn't stay, just in case we were still contagious. Then we headed to Covington to watch 3 of Mick's softball girls play for Darton College. They were all 3 in the bible study I lead and like family to us. They were our kids before Micah. They have taken a backseat which is why this is the first game we've seen and they are in their second year there. Micah of course loved being at the ballfield...but on the trip there started coughing like there was no tomorrow. We almost turned around but he actually got better while we were there. The girls won the first game and we left before the second one ended. They are all so grown up now. I do miss making those relationships with Mick's softball team but for now that season has changed and fortunately I still have the older girls:) It is so much fun watching them turn into friends instead of students. I am so thankful for the time God allowed me to invest in them. I love them like they are my own and yesterday made me so proud! I know Mick was too, just seeing them succeed at the next level. I made Micah a tshirt to wear that said "Go Des, Steph and Hannah!" He loved seeing them and it was weird having Mick sit with us at a game. That has never happened. The girls played really well and Hannah even hit a homerun just for us! Hee hee!

That was the good part of the day. We had decided since things went so well that we would head to Disney today...and then we got home. Micah was beat so he went straight to sleep, of course it was 11:00! At 12:30 I awoke to Micah gagging and I told Mick that I thought Micah was throwing up. Sure enough we went in and it was everywhere. Poor bird...it was in his hair so I had to bathe him. He kept crying and then falling asleep sitting up while I was trying to wash him. Although it was a good day Micah would not eat, so we let him have ice cream and a milkshake and that was about all he would eat. Soooo, medicine and lactose apparently don't mix. We know we get the worst parents of the year award. So needless, to say we are here at home watching our Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Marathon while we could be at Mickey's House. Mick thinks his throat hurts so while we'd like to try to leave tomorrow we'll probably be here coughing it up all week. Joy.

strange night and streppy morning.

Last night we put Micah to bed as usual. He did so good and went down so easy but at 1:00 he started seriously crying for me. In his I'm not going back to sleep til I see Momma's face, cry. So I got him and brought him into bed with us. Well, he was struggling real hard to breathe and making a raspy noise. Not good. Mick then mentions that it could possibly be because he bathed him with something different. I asked with what...and Mick's reply was "that green stuff". I said you bathed him with that???? The green stuff is Johnson's Vapor Bath and it is to be put into the tub in a small amount. It is NOT a soap and the first time I used it was the last because Micah only got sicker after using it. So then the usual panic mode set in that Micah was having some weird allergic reaction. Mick was feeling awful for using poison for soap. We called the nurse line and she said she thought it sounded like croup. I understood why she thought so but still thought it had to do with being immersed in eucalyptus. She said we should see the dr. this morning. So I go to get Micah out of bed. When I put him in he could hardly talk. He looks at me from his bed and shouts "Hey Mommy!" all happy and normal. So I think I am not taking him to the dr. with no symptoms so I went on to work and made an appt for later in the morning to see if the symptoms resurfaced. Nana met me with Micah and the cough had come back. I told the dr about our bathing issue but she too thought it was unrelated to his sickness. She checked him out and he has strep throat. I still think the vapor bath irritated it but Mick can rest easy knowing he didn't cause Micah's sickness. Although I will be shortly throwing that bottle away. (Always the cautious Momma I am still not completely convinced in the no corelation so will keep it in my purse in case Micah does anything else weird...and we need ingredient listings:)) So now we are home, one dose of antibiotic down and hoping for a better nights sleep. We are also praying that I don't get this like the pinkeye since this is even worse for the pregnant lady. Yikes! I despise sickness I really do. To top it all off we had "plans" for our Friday night...real live "plans" now we'll be going solo since we don't want to pass along anything to our friends. Bummer!
