A True Bachelorette Weekend

I attended my first Bachelorette Party since I have gotten old and had children. Whichever happened first. Let me be the first to say, I am not as young as I used to be. Staying out past midnight is like torture. Devon's weekend pretty much felt like it should have been the movie "The Bachelorette Party". I hadn't attended many and this one was pretty much everything I imagined it, it was. Aside from running through Taco Bell after drinking all night, who knew that is what people want to eat after that?? Not me.  No, seriously it wasn't that bad. Actually it was pretty fun. Aside from some nasty puking (not from me, Coca-cola classic is my personal drink of choice) we had a great time. I actually probably had more fun than when I was younger and "more insecure", once you've birthed babies and whipped your boob out in public (for sustenance not for beads) you kind of find yourself and can just have fun and not care about what other people think about you ...a. not drinking b. dancing like a banchee c. laughing at drunk people.  That was my personal take. Devon, the bride, had a blast and I love her dearly. We might be alot different but we are also alot similar. She was sweet to invite me and notsosure she thought I'd come. But I showed her. Anyways, I will save my sappy post for her on the wedding pictures to come!!

Zoo Expired.

We got a Zoo membership last year and we had definitely gotten our money's worth throughout the year. But, we are Harper's and we like to be sure we are being wise (or cheap) with our money. So since our membership expired in May we went as many times as we could. Sometimes two days in a row. One of my favorite days was when the kiddos and I just headed there by ourselves. All of the animals seemed to be out and ready to be seen. Micah and SayJ loved it and it was just one of those days where it is fun to be a Momma. Love these sweet faces and can't believe time is passing so quickly still. On a random note I highly recommend the Zoo membership, I think it is the cheapest of the deals around the ATL and it is virtually a free trip if you pack a lunch each time you go. Just my two cents.

Our little choir boy.

After Grandmama's birthday bash we had to head straight home for Micah's choir performance. He started choir this year. He doesn't neccesarily love the class itself but he just really really really wanted to perform on the stage. Each week he would fight me on going but then I would tell him he couldn't get on the stage unless he went to choir practice so then he would want to go. Crazy, not sure if we will go again next year. We will just have to see how badly he wants to get on the stage again. He did agree to wear a tie. Which was very exciting for this Momma. I seriously can not get him out of nike shorts and shirts to save my life. His sensory disorder(that I diagnosed him with)  seems to only be worsening.

90 Years YOUNG!

We are going where??? Minnie Mouse welcomed Gmama to her party!

We celebrated my Grandmother's 90th Birthday Party with a Minnie Mouse theme. You might remember that she LOVED SadieJane's party so much that she took home all the leftover decorations as well as the wreath on the front door. So I knew then it would be a good choice for her 90th. We were trying with all our might to throw her a surprise party but this woman is set in her ways!! We had to change the party twice, because bless her she had a fish fry to go to. Hahaha. We had a blast surprising her and spending time with her. She was truly overwhelmed. I am so thankful that my kiddos get to know my Grandmama and that we get to visit with her when we can. She is still adamantly living on her own and I pray she can do it as long as she can. She does not want to leave where she is, and we are thankful that she is so happy there but dread a day when she can not stay.

Poppy's Book Signing!

In May we also attended a booksigning for one of my best friend's father. We lovingly call him Poppy. You might remember a blog about his book as it was a really hard but enlightening read for me. Especially knowing their family the way I do, it just brought alot of things together for me. We are so proud of Poppy and all that he has accomplished through publishing his story and using it to help other people. To find out more about the book or to get a copy for yourself go here.

Dessy's Going to the Chapel...or the Barn:) Either way she is getting married!!!

Oh boy, oh boy. I am backing up to Mother's day in May. We spent some of the day with family and then headed to Destiny's graduation party. We also knew that most likely that would be the day that she and Tyler would get engaged. We knew he had the ring, even though everyone tried to keep it a secret from me because they thought I would tell Des. truth be told, I am glad, because I might've. Accidentally, of course, but we are just so close that it is hard to keep secrets from each other. Our Dessy, is so special and I have mentioned it before. She is really special to Micahbird and he dissappeared the moment after they got engaged. He was a little hurt I think. He showed back up and approved of Tyler after all. I could get all sappy but I'll save that post for another day. We are so excited for these two, so far it seems to be set in stone to save the date for November. Can not wait. Will be so amazing to see God bring to fruition something I prayed for and with someone about! Thank you Jesus!

Backin' that thing up...

...to spend time with the people pictured above. I haven't taken a blog break on purpose really. It has just happened. It has become something that has once again fallen through the cracks. This time it is due to alot of self reflection, internal turmoil, tons of fun laughs and giggles, some wrestling and learning with Jesus, lots of runs and prayers with our Lord and just a general change of pace round here. So I want to update and share what is going on in our lives but that just hasn't been an easy thing to just post in 4 sentence paragraph form. Sometimes life just gets messy. Not in a neccesarily bad way, but just not in a way that lends itself to easy explanation or fruition in blogform. For now, here are some pictures and some thoughts just to see if anyone would even read anymore if I did get back to writing. I will be updating for my own viewing pleasure in the week to come, so that all of our fun life moments are recorded. But just not sure how this thing will go after I do back this thing up...
