YOUR kid.

That is what Mick and I say about Micah when he does something silly or funny. We say it is the other persons kid. We've been saying that alot lately. Truth is he cracks. me. up. Don't tell him though. Here are just a few things lately...

~He punched Hayden in the face. Got in trouble but if you know the two of them, this was funny(again, I cannot let him know this).

~This morning he woke up and I could hear him on the monitor singing "yeah baby, yeah baby, yeah baby."

~Mick is teaching him all sorts of dorky, I mean educational things. If you ask him where elephants live he says "Afreeca", if you ask him about the clouds he'll say they are "cum-u-lus" and if you ask him about power poles he'll tell you that is where the eeee-lectricity is. Honestly you have to hear him say these things to get the full extent.

~He can do the churn the butter dance move. Oh yeah...that one is for sure my kid.

~He is now starting to lie. Great. About silly things...like today I asked if he ate his breakfast bar he stared me down with a yes. The half eaten bar is sitting two feet from us, we can both see it. I ask again. Lies, lies lies. Finally, he tries to hug me saying "Mommy, let's not talk about the breakfast bar anymore." Smooth operator.

~There is more but I can't remember right now. Lucky for you.

I will write a post on Sadie Jane soon. Girl is funny too, but more like funny frustrating at two in the morning all shiny smiley she is...

My Savior...

Tonight we were driving in the car and this song came on. It is one of my favorites and I always tear up a little when I hear it because it is so true. I haven't had a lot of time to pray lately and spending time with the Lord has been sporadic. Life is good but hard and bittersweet in so many ways. I take what time I can to talk to Jesus and I sang this song to Him. I knew when I got home I would want to read the lyrics again because I get so caught up between hearing and believing. So I thought I'd share them with you. For those that know me you know this song hits hard for a number of reasons but I pray that all of you who read this find love and peace in the arms of Jesus today.

Voice of a Savior
Mandessa sings it and I think it is written by Matthew West

Some people try to listen, to the bottom of a bottle
Some people try to listen, to a needle in their arm
Some people try to listen, to the money in their pocket
Some people try to listen, to another’s arms

You and I are not that different
We got a void and we’re just trying to fill it up
With something that will give just a little peace
All we want is a hand to reach to
Open arms that say I love you
We’d give anything to hear
The voice of a Savior

Some people try to find it with blind ambition
Some people try to find it where no one else has gone
Some people try to find it in the crowns of victory
Some people get defeated and lose the strength to carry on

Some people try to find it in the shadow of a steeple
Some people try to find it in the back row pew
Some people try to find it in the arms of Jesus
That’s where I found it, how about you?

Amen and Amen.
You and I we aren't so different. Here's to giving people the benefit of the doubt and keeping our judgement to ourselves. A reminder that the ground is level at the foot of the cross is always a welcome one to me, Thank you, Jesus.

Jaxseen. Jaxseen.

Micah looks ridiculous but this is the one picture I have of the boys all in one shot.

This is the dinosaur that you send the balls down the lane...I need to use this if I bowl. The boys would have rather played on it than used it for its purpose.
The birthday boy using the dinosaur appropriately.

Yesterday was Jaxson's third birthday party and our first family outing to go bowling. Micah LOVED bowling. Hayden went with us since Jaxson is Micah's bff Hayden likes to play with him too. We had a good time until the power went out due to a storm I think. Fortunately we had finished everything except goodbyes when it happened. Thanks to the Wallace's for a fun time. Mick also got to bowl which made it fun for him too.

Our Herd...

I officially have the snots along with a few other ailments...but as always...the show must go on...and the pictures. Friday was Cow Appreciation Day and the first time that I haven't had to work so we planned to go to the mall Chicken house and get some free food. Yes, I still love it and since I am not working much this summer I was really excited. I wasn't feeling great but Sadie Jane had to wear her cute dress that my cousin Sissy made!! I love it and am excited because with her lack of heigth we'll be able to wear it again next year. Thanks Sissy! Micah wore his shirt that Mick made for him as this was his 3rd CAD wearing it. It looked a little like a halter top so I think it will be retired this year! Thanks to Mick he found my tail and ears...another yearly tradition. We have had a BUSY weekend so I will post more later when I can breathe. I am about to give in to the afrin addiction.
PS SayJ has the snots too and looks very ragamuffinish lately. She's still cute as a ragamuffin, but she has a bruise on her face, broken out from sunscreen and snot running down her face and her nose is alll torn up from us hosin' the nose. Poor girl.

Parade and People

SayJ loved the parade...
it was her first.

Always with the hands on the hips.

Aunt Betty and Mick

We celebrated the 4th as most did for two days. The 4th of July parade in Dville was big as it was an election year. The kiddos had fun and Micah really started enjoying it. Aside from a really loud horn that almost put him over the edge. We had lunch with friends and family and then at the last minute realized we had enough ground beef to feed an army. So we had the Harper's, Eidsons and Hughes' over for dinner. The kiddos and adults had such fun and we had fun grilling out again. We love the new grill.

Four Generations...and Four Posts...Scroll Down

Jane was on me from the moment she arrived that I get a four generations picture with my Grandmama so when she came to visit on the 4th we did just that. Micah wanted to help so he took the pictures that you need to piece together. Grandmama was doing great and Sadie Jane loved playing with her. Truth be told we probably wouldn't have suffered through another night there at the lake had we not REALLY wanted to see Grandmama the next day. Plus we got these great pictures...hopefully Jane got an even better one with her camera.

Ok, so there were ALOT of photoshoots at the lake...so for the two of you that care you have to scroll down a bit to see them all. I think there are four posts in all!

SayJ's first Boat Ride

b

Sadie Jane hadn't been on a boat ride yet so we made a very quick trip to The Pott's cabin to make a beer run for Budda and basically torture our sweet girl. Jenny said she had the right lifevest but once we got it on our petite little butterball it wasn't quite right. SayJ was quite the trooper and wore it the whole time only screaming at the end each way. We did pick her up, don't worry, but for the pictures we just left her on the seat. Didn't want you all to worry.
