Lucky Prom Night
We had a great time on our prom date. I can say if we had had the opportunity to dance it would've been more fun than my other proms. But Mick just insists I stay off the bumpin' and grindin' dance floor. This year was no different we got to see girls and boys doing things that their parents would report that they would never do. I can still remember we bought my prom VHS video my junior year because I was crowned Prom Princess (I know you are impressed...), well when we brought it home to watch it I had to fast forward through all the dancing because I was a little embarrassed for my parents to see me on the dance floor. I think they thought it wise to stop videoing the prom shortly thereafter. I digressed...and am about to some more. There were a few dresses that were so short that things were hanging out the back but there were not near as many strategically cut out dresses as it looks like those might have thankfully gone out of style. The people watching is some of the best at the prom. The way the girls and guys act, I just look and wander what the teacher's thought of me back then, then I can just turn and ask Mick then, he was in that junior prom video too, but I don't think the teacher's were allowed to dance then. I also look and think, oh dear Lord, what will it look like when Micah and SadieJane go, yikes! I am scared to think. Hopefully Mick and I will be there then, me in my 10 dollars or less last years style prom dress and Mick in his same suit and tie. Can't wait til next year! It is definitely one of my favorite dates of the year!
A WILD Day!
It was busy but a really fun day. Micah got his face painted and then shortly after decided it was a bad decision. I only got one picture of his with the cheetah face. He loved it for a few minutes. They also had a gorilla come to visit during the party. SayJ went NUTS. She was terrified, and quite honestly so was I for a minute til I realized it was just Dennis in the costume. We rushed home from the party to get dolled up for the prom...more pictures to follow!

How's Your Friday, Is it GOOD?
After I posted my incredibly superficial scrapbookin' post I started thinking about the fact that it is Good Friday and I hadn't really talked about it. I mentioned it to Taron earlier because we were talking about it is also Earth Day. It just rubbed me wrong that they fell together. Good Friday is such a GOOD day, but a HARD day, and no slams on recycling and keeping the earth going but I just don't like combining it with a day that bears so much MORE than that. This year Easter has fallen at a later time and for some reason I have definitely just not wrapped my brain around the season.
My family has a "gift" in that we can compartmentalize things and also live in lands that aren't quite reality. It's not a good gift but I got it somewhere along the line, from the freaker herself, sorry mom. There are really good traits I got from Jenny but I just fail to mention them on the blog, I'll try to fix that. Anyways, due to some current circumstances I've been living outside of some things as to not deal with them. Hmmm...such a healthy coping mechanism you say? We've been on vacation, we've been sick, we've been partying. No need to address things that are going on, right? Well, in some ways this "gift" has served me well, I've tended to business without falling apart. But, straying away from the elephant in the room, this is also what I think I've done about Easter.
We've just gotten busy with playing, shopping, Easter Bunny visits,"Egging" (another post to come and it does have redeeming points"), egg hunting, life, etc. I have failed to face the reality. The most important reality that we are celebrating the fact that today, Good Friday, is the day we remember Jesus died on a cross for our sins. He was hanging between two thieves, like a common criminal. Yet He was perfect....he bore my sins...your sins so that we could have eternal life. Because of Good Friday we are forgiven and restored, redeemed, renewed. Ahhhh. Beauty. Tears. Love. Overwhelmed. Then on Easter He did what makes Him who He is...He AROSE! If He had simply died on the cross today wouldn't be Good Friday at all. But the tomb was rolled away and Jesus wasn't inside. Praise the Lord He is alive today and we can worship Him. Amen.
Thanks for listening to my sermon. I am about to read it again because it is mainly for me. So that I can not live outside of the reality of who Jesus is and what He has done for me. But so that I can rest and relish in what Easter is, and so that I can share that joy with my children. Hope your Easter is blessed by the real reason. I pray I can hold onto truth and not be so enticed by all that world has that is "good" but doesn't compare with how Good my Friday's always should be!

Birthday Extravaganza!
e
It seems like half of our close friends had babies in April. Last weekend we went to two super fun birthday parties. A Luau for Sunny's 8th birthday! (NO stinkin' way is that little girl eight!) Then on Sunday we had Jake's 4th Birthday as a Pirate party! We had a blast at both. We got to see lots of friends at both parties and Micah has officially reached the age of independence as far as parties go. I don't mean we send him to the wolves or anything, but he can actually play with kiddos or find something fun to do on his own. He no longer "needs" Mick or I for entertainment. SadieJane would also LIKE to be that independent but she just basically is in her running amuck stage. We've been there once before so it isn't anything knew, it's just that we are still tired from our first rodeo. More parties to come for Jesus (I guess it's the Holy Spirit's Birthday Party on Easter(ok, don't message me I know I am stretching it...)), egg hunts, another Birthday and Prom:) As soon as life slows down there will be more posts on other stuff...for now I'm scrapbookin' it.

Oh the Bunny!
You all know my love for Mr. Claus. My love for the dear ole' Easter bunny is so small that he (or she) has never even gotten a blog mention. But SadieJane is obsessed. She LOVES things dressed in costume and the Easter Bunny seems to be everywhere this year. My friend Kristen and I took SayJ and her two kiddos to the mall to see him. (Micah was on a boys day out to the Braves with Jaxson and Kevin) We had such a blast! Sadie Jane and I rarely ever go anywhere by ourselves so it was a neat day and made me happy to spend some time with friends AND just us girls! I guess it was the first of our "Girl's Days" Something about that just makes me smile:)Thanks Kristen for helping me get the pictures loaded..now if I could just get them onto the blog!
