Bat-tastic Birthday Bash!

Beautiful family pick at the very end of the night. We were all way tired!

Look closely and you will see Batman got on the trampoline. Mass chaos. And this Batman growled? Who does that?
It's a bird, it's a plane...

nope! It's Batmick on our shed!!

Some of the kiddos on our Batsign. Mick did a great job and we didn't fight with some of the kiddos to get their picture made, but this is a good representation!

The BatCave and Gotham City. Unfortunately someone moved Gotham City into the Batcave:(

This is our party that almost wasn't. I got some weird fluke pukemess at my friend Brittany's house while she was doing my hair on Friday morning(don't know if it was combo of hair dye and laying upside down, food pois. or a virus?). You know you are close when you end up lying in your friends bathroom floor while your kiddos run amuck in her house. (Did I mention she was also trying to do someone elses' hair?) You also get even closer when you puke in that friends front yard. I came home and got sick some more. After I got the kiddos down for naps I laid down and felt much better. It was the craziest thing! Thank goodness Micah's party wasn't til 6 Saturday night so there was over a 24 hour window from me getting sick til go time:) I felt so terrible that I didn't get to do all I wanted to do for his party and that I wasn't quite as prepared since I was out of commission on Friday. Even so I didn't touch, breathe or stand to close to anyone and I lysoled our house to kingdom come. (I also alerted the guests in case they wanted to take a raincheck:)) Worry-wart Wanda that I am fretted so that I almost ruined the joy of the party, but Mick reminded me the party wasn't about me, but was about Micah having fun with his friends. Boy did he ever! God definitely even used a "pukey" circumstance to teach me a lesson. So thankful for those who came out and enjoyed our little Batboy! And a huge shoutout to the best Daddy/husband ever who sported the Batman costume for his second birthday party appearance. And after my pleading he even "flew" into the party and surprised (aka scared) small children. For mine and Micah's records here is our list of Baticipants: The other Harper's, The Hill's, The Eidson's, The Hughes', Aunt Dot, The Wallace's, Janice, Melinda and Rex, The Bentley's, The Keaton's, The Butterworth's, The Hanes', Heather and Chase, The Mann's, Coach Graham and Mason, and Batman.

Happy Birthday Again...and one more time to go!

I've known adults to celebrate their birthday for weeks or months at a time. Micah apparently has followed suit. He had his class birthday party (aka glorified snack) the day after his birthday. I brought party hats to make it a little more festive. I love being in the classroom and talking to the kiddos. It makes me miss teaching. For a minute. Then I packed my two up and came home. SadieJane is loving on her brother in the last picture. Oh how she loves him. It took her three birthday cakes' later, but she finally knows that when you ask her who's birthday it is...it isn't "SAdies!", it is "Bubbo's!". Love it.

Two Zoo's in a Day.

My bird in his nest:)

SadieJane is like the animal whisperer. It cracks me up.

This encompasses the way it went at the zoo. Everyone running in their own direction.

We celebrated Micah's day yesterday by going to the Zoo and then to the Varsity. Mick took off work so we could spend the day as a family. It was so much fun. We were all sooo tired afterwards but so worth it. Micah was so sweet and obedient. Here's to four being a new leaf! We'll leave the Terrible Twos and Threes behind and head on to the Fabulous Fours. It's days like these I really want to stop time just for a bit so we can remember it and treasure it a little longer.

Micah Reed 7 Harper turns 4.

It is so hard to believe each year as my babies grow and change. This by far is the most fun age with Micahbird. He is independent enough to have fun by himself but still loves his Momma enough to stick close by and do things with me. He has really started to own his big brother role and I am so thankful. There are still our share of ugliness, but he often is caught trying to teach SadieJane something or loving her too. Micah continues to be the source of so much laughter. The things he does and says just keep me either laughing inside or bursting out if I can't hold it in. Because most of the time he doesn't know he is being funny. I wish I had a steel trap memory but I don't and most of these moments go undocumented. Micah is still so strong-willed and passionate about everything. He is also growing (hard to believe) more competitive with time. He makes more and more expressions just like his Daddy and the two have a really special bond. Micah has definitely turned into a Daddy's boy. He still loves his Momma but he really likes being a boy and doing boy things. It really seems like four is a big change, it makes him seem like a real kid, not a baby anymore. I keep begging him to stop growing but he just wont do it. I seriously can not wait to see the young man he turns into. I have been praying for this little four year old since years before he was even conceived and now I am praying for his future. So hard to believe time goes by this fast! Those first few weeks and months of his life I never would have written a sentence like that but God saw us through and I know He'll do the same through the next season and the next. I thought I'd ask Micah a few questions about himself and document them here. I'd like to say I'd do this for every birthday but I better not set my goals too high.
